Our Mission
Synthesis Theatre Company aims to present art which expresses the voices of the newer generations in a space that focuses on unity, safety, advocacy, and change.
Our Story
Synthesis Theatre Company began as a small pipe-dream of college and high school students wanting to present underrepresented shows that spoke deeply to young people. That pipe-dream grew to become a reality in the summer of 2022, when Synthesis produced American Idiot. The show was a huge success, but more importantly, it brought young artists together to create change. STC soon after took off with their production of Heathers: The Musical, raising tens of thousands of dollars for theatre education spaces and providing a home for over 50 young cast and crew members. Throughout the production process, Synthesis Theatre Company began to focus on safety and challenging the common unsafe and unhealthy practices widely accepted in the theatre community. STC began to strongly advocate for the protection of actors and crew members in delicate theatre spaces, and now proudly fights for the well-being, comfortability, consent, and overall safety of their members. Synthesis Theatre Company now aims to present pressing and important theatrical art while prioritizing the safety and advocacy of the actors, pit players, and crew members involved.
